Job summary
An opportunity has arisen to join a well-established team of clinical neuropsychologists working in Neurorehabilitation within St George's University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
The Clinical Neuropsychologists are key and highly valued members of the multidisciplinary Neurorehabilitation service. Across St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust inpatient and community neurorehabilitation settings, there are a large number of Clinical Neuropsychologists and Assistant Psychologists.
The successful candidate for this post will have doctorate level training in clinical psychology, experience in neuropsychological diagnostic assessment / neurorehabilitation and effective multi-disciplinary working. The post will provide input to inpatient neurorehabilitation, outpatient diagnostic assessment, and outpatient cognitive rehabilitation services.
The post holder will be a member of the Department of Adult Psychological Professions. The Department provides neuropsychology services across the whole pathway from acute care to the community. Clinical health psychology services are also provided to chronic pain, renal, haematology and trauma and orthopaedics. The Department is committed to clinical supervision, continuing professional development and career progression. Therefore we offer rotational opportunities amongst our 8a staff group within the department's various services.
Main duties of the job
To provide highly specialist clinical neuropsychology input to patients attending inpatient neurorehabilitation services. This post is rotational and will include neuropsychological assessments, as well as providing highly specialist psychological assessment and therapy and offering advice and consultation on clients' psychological care to other health professionals and nonprofessional carers. The post holder will exercise autonomous professional responsibility for clinical decisions, working within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the teams' policies and procedures. In liaison with the neurorehabilitation MDT, the post holder will be expected to utilise their knowledge of evidence based psychological interventions and research skills to further develop neuropsychology and clinical psychology input to these services. The post holder will also be expected to identify and implement audit and research projects within the area served by the team/service.The post holder will be involved in the training, continuing professional development and supervision of trainee clinical psychologists, assistant psychologists and other health professionals,
