Therapy Technician (Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy)

Job summary

Specifically, this post forms part of a 10 bedded acute and highly specialist level 1 rehabilitation inpatient rehabilitation unit at St George's Hospital.

This role involves undertaking the care and management of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) patients within St George's Hospital under the direct supervision of registered qualified therapists. They will perform duties supporting the

functioning of the TBI Rehabilitation Unit.

It requires assisting the Physio and Occupational Therapy team in carrying out delegated rehabilitation duties under supervision.

They will support the Therapy team in the administration, clerical and domestic duties of the service.

On average this post delivers up to 30 face-to-face therapy sessions a week. It also contributes to the non-clinical tasks.

Role involves being part of the seven-day service across neurosciences with compensatory rest days provided.

Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit to a permanent post as a Therapy Technician at St. George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Tooting.

We are strongly committed to evidence-based practice, continuing professional and personal development as well as service development. There is a well-established in-service education programme for therapy technicians within neurosciences and the wider Trust.

The role involves administrative tasks which ensure the smooth running of the department over 5 days a week which requires familiarity with the intricacy of the service.

You will be expected to work weekends as part of the neurosciences therapy roster. You will be supported by qualified physiotherapists and occupational therapists across neurosciences.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Rehabilitation service at St George's Hospital. This post involves supporting patients with traumatic brain injuries from a physiotherapy and occupational therapy perspective with the support of qualified staff.

The successful candidate will be offered a permanent post forming part of a multi-disciplinary team providing a guided high standard of physiotherapy and occupational therapy treatment to people with neurological conditions.
