Specialised Rotational Paediatric Physiotherapist

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Paediatric Physiotherapy service as a permanent Band 6 Rotational Paediatric Physiotherapist.

Rotations (9 months) are within the following areas:

  1. Neurosciences: Neurology, neurosurgery and oncology - Based at St George's Hospital.
  2. Paediatric Intensive Care (PICU): PICU and ward respiratory caseloads - Based at St George's Hospital.
  3. Trauma and Orthopaedics: Inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation for pre and post elective orthopaedic surgery in addition to the inpatient major trauma orthopaedic caseload. - Based at St George's Hospital.
  4. Respiratory: Supporting the specialist respiratory outpatient clinics alongside some of the acute respiratory caseload - Based at St George's Hospital.
  5. Child Development Centre: Over 5's and under 5's neuro-developmental, neuro-orthopaedic, multidisciplinary clinics, mainstream schools, special schools nurseries and home visits. Clinics are based at St George's Hospital and Queen Mary's Hospital, Roehampton.
  6. Musculoskeletal (MSK): MSK, orthopaedics including supporting neonatal orthopaedic outpatients. Clinics are based at St George's Hospital and Queen Mary's Hospital.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a dynamic and highly motivated physiotherapist to join our friendly and enthusiastic team. You will be working with babies, children and young people with a range of health needs and will be committed to family centred practice. Our team is dedicated to ensuring that the health and wellbeing of our staff members is supported within this environment.

The successful candidate will be based at either one or a combination of the sites listed above. We provide an integrated acute and community service and work together as a cohesive team.

The post provides excellent opportunities to develop your clinical, managerial and professional skills in a range of specialities within paediatrics at St George's Hospital. This includes provision for the local population as well as regional specialist services. The post holder will be able to contribute to the continued development of the service and have the opportunity to supervise and appraise staff and students working within the team.

Successful candidates will be supported with competency training in order to participate in the paediatric respiratory weekend service.

  • Evidence of continued professional development (CPD)
