Physician Associate

Job summary

We are seeking a motivated Physician Associate to join the Interventional Radiology team at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust on a 12-month fixed-term basis to provide maternity cover.

This role offers the opportunity to work within a busy and innovative specialty at a major trauma centre, supporting inpatient, outpatient, and trauma services.

The post holder will work closely with consultants, junior doctors, nurses and allied health professionals to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care across a wide range of IR procedures and pathways.

Main duties of the job

- Work under consultant supervision to provide essential clinical and operational support within the Interventional Radiology (IR) department.

- Assist with procedures, including patient consenting, pre- and post-procedure care, and follow-up.

- Organise daily and future procedure lists, ensuring appropriate documentation is completed (including discharge summaries and sample requests).

- Support patient referrals and enquiries, liaising with multidisciplinary teams to maintain smooth pathways of care.

- Contribute to the preparation of morbidity and mortality (M&M) meetings.

- Assist in managing the workload associated with vascular access and interventional oncology cases.

- Promote continuity of care, efficient patient flow, and the overall safety and effectiveness of the IR service.
