Pharmacy department is currently looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (ePMA) team. You will work alongside our Pharmacy Team Leader - ePMA and Clinical Informatics, Chief Clinical Information Officer, Chief Nurse Information Officer, pharmacy team and healthcare & IT professionals across the organisation and the wider NHS digital community. You will work closely with stakeholders to ensure that the solution delivers the strategic and operational goals of the Trust which includes patient safety, quality of care, efficient use of staff resources and cost effective prescribing. Applicants should have significant previous experience of working with electronic prescribing solutions within an acute hospital setting. You will be provided with an opportunity to develop a broad portfolio of skills that includes negotiating and influencing people, managing change, managing projects and developing staff.
Main duties of the job
- To support the Pharmacy Team Leader - ePMA and Clinical Informatics in the delivery of Clinical Informatics for St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, ensuring that Pharmacy IT follows a strategic direction in supporting all aspects of the pharmacy business.
- To manage and maintain the 'Business as Usual' element of the role, involving general maintenance of the order catalogue.
- To oversee and resolve problems for Pharmacy ePMA systems.
- To support the Highly Specialist Pharmacist and Specialist Pharmacy Technician - ePMA and Clinical Informatics.
- To ensure that Pharmacy/Trust Staff are using all Trust Clinical Systems appropriately and effectively.
- To ensure pharmacy data quality is maintained at a high level.
- To ensure Trust Standards for accountability, integrity and security of Clinical systems are met.
- To deputise for the Specialised Pharmacist or Technician - ePMA and Clinical Informatics.
