Job summary
To be an efficient and flexible member of the SWL Pathology team providing consistently highquality and professional service to all users of the service.
1. To liaise with and advise the appropriate managers on all matters relating to stock control.2. To coordinate and be responsible for the efficient and effective running of the stock controlsystem within the centralised SWLP goods-in space, utilised by both Clinical Blood Sciencesand Microbiology.3. To proactively monitor and manage the use of all Microbiology stock rooms, with assignedresponsibility for ordering defined products to minimum and maximum thresholds4. To be responsible for health and safety and security of the shared stock room and allassociated stock receiving areas. To be responsible for staff across SWLP having dedicatedand supervised access to this area.5. To supervise the effective use, management and organisation of all stock areas and goodsdelivery points, including delegated responsibility for supervising Band 2 stock control coordinators.
Main duties of the job
As the microbiology stock supervisor, you will be required to proactively monitor and manage stock control within Microbiology. You will be required to liaise with colleagues within Microbiology and Clinical Blood Sciences in relation to the centralised SWLP goods-in space and escalate issues to the appropriate managers in a timely manner.
You should have good attention to detail, be able to follow defined protocols, be flexible, highly motivated, with excellent communication skills and be a strong team player fully committed to patient care.
