Job summary
This role forms part of the Occupational Therapy team and provides Specialist Therapy Technician sessions to patients on a neurorehabilitation ward with 16 level 1 and 10 level 2 patients. Patients present with a with a range of psycho-social, physical, cognitive and emotional problems including terminal illness.
Main duties of the job
The post involves working as part of the wider Interdisciplinary team and working alongside qualified Occupational Therapists to provide direct patient intervention (both one-to-one and group sessions). These interventions include physical, sensory, cognitive and perceptual rehabilitation sessions.
The role also assists with administrative tasks such as maintenance of equipment loans systems, information gathering and promotion of best quality patient care.
The postholder contributes to the intensity of rehabilitation provided over seven days and will work rostered weekends within neurosciences/neurorehabilitation.
