Endoscopy Patient Pathway, Advanced Therapy & Course Coordinator

Job summary

Management of Endoscopy courses, keeping website updated, managingpayment from delegates and organising for payment of faculty and accommodation where appropriate. Ordering any course materials as required and organising hospitality for courses.Booking of advanced endoscopic therapy and other endoscopy day case procedures and working closely with theComplex Polyp Multi-Disciplinary Team and Endoscopy Team.

Main duties of the job

Demonstrate knowledge of endoscopic procedures performed in the unit including diagnostic gastroscopy and colonoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, ERCP, bronchoscopy, EUS, EBUS, cystoscopy and other related procedures such as liver biopsy, and urea breath testing.? Understand and maintain knowledge of the actual capacity of the Endoscopy unit including the allocation of units of endoscopy time (WTE's) per list and per procedure and demonstrateknowledge of the specialist areas of the endoscopy users, and level of trainees.? To book procedures and manage lists according to this provision, which can change on a regular basis.? To use this knowledge to ensure that colleagues and those in other departments understand the endoscopy booking procedures and assist them with queries/booking their patients.? To be highly proficient in iClip, EPR, the Endoscopy Record system, and have a high standard of Microsoft Office skills

? To train and supervise Junior Administration and clerical staff.? Maintain knowledge of national waiting times and have a clear understanding of both internaland national endoscopy waiting time validation processes.? To maintain a good working knowledge of the patient pathways for patients coming into the unit, particularly those of cancer patients

? Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of Endoscopy courses and requirements to run these efficiently?To be confident and efficient when answering patients' calls in a busy office
