Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Change Agent to join the Change Team within the IDT Department at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic candidate that ideally has2 years' experience of change management programs or equivalent relevant experience (e.g. business transformation, healthcare system support) and is educated to degree level or equivalent. Prior knowledge of Cerner Millennium applications is desirable.

This vacancy will close early when 20 applications have been received.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and flexible candidate. You need to demonstrate excellent verbal/written communication and analytical thinking skills, as well as a proven ability to resolve crisis successfully. You will also be expected to show initiative, plan/prioritise your work, and demonstrate a keen attention to detail.

Experience of any of the following will also be desirable:

  • Clinical Systems including Cerner applications
  • Project planning tools, e.g. Microsoft Visio.
  • Working knowledge of other Microsoft packages, such as Excel and Teams.

About us

St George's is a large and complex Trust, so the individual appointed to this post will need to be comfortable managing a wide range of expectations and competing demands, as well as working on other trust sites and doing flexible hours when required.

The IDT department manages the Trust's IDT systems, infrastructure and IT support services enabling the electronic filing, printing and sharing of both clinical and non-clinical information. It also provides support to manage the systems and services which includes: helpdesk; IT training; break-fix; application development, acquisition and support for all the supported Trust IT services. The IDT department is also responsible for Information Governance.

TheIDT Change Agentwill be a champion of digital change that will benefit service users. They will be responsible for the design and implementation of new and effective processes, ensuring real engagement with clinical, managerial and administrative staff at the Trust.

  • The post-holder is responsible for providing change management and support to ensure outputs are delivered effectively.
  • The post holder will assist and take a lead on one or more change projects, responsible for planning, day-to-day delivery, and subsequent performance management, adjusting plans as required to ensure that risks and issues are mitigated.
  • The post holder will work with clinicians and managers to ensure provision of the best possible patient experience and service delivery by facilitating the discussion of requirements among stakeholders and documenting requirements to provide data-driven recommendations
  • A key role will be the rigorous definition and oversight of the change projects including determining current/future processes, risk and issue management.
  • The post holder will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective management of interdependencies and delivery of objectives.
  • It is expected that the specific change projects managed by the post holder will change over time as the portfolio of work changes.
  • This post will be focussed on change management projects required for delivery of any IT change management initiatives.
