Job summary
This post of Receptionist/ Medical Clerical Assistant involves moving through several different areas within the department and will also involve working early and late shifts on a rotational basis. Post holders will be expected to become fully conversant with all aspects of these different roles and be able to act as mentor to new staff in their training.
Main duties of the job
We have a vacancy for a full time Receptionist / Medical Clerical Assistant to work in our friendly supportive team in the Neuroradiology Department at St George's Hospital. This post covers a range of duties within Neuroradiology including reception, dealing with queries, both face to face and on the telephone, general office work, copying of images in CD and electronic format and computer housekeeping.
Applicants should be good team workers, adaptable with plenty of common sense.
The department is computerised so VDU skills are essential. We are looking for friendly, mature people with good communications skills who are quick learners.
Post holders will be required to cover both early and late shifts on a rotational basis. Post holders will be required to wear Trust uniform.
Applicants should have at least 2 years recent relevant office experience, including reception duties.
The job requires you to do early shifts 7am to 3pm, late shifts 12 noon to 8pm and shifts at the weekend 8am to 4pm.
