Consultant in Audiovestibular Medicine

Job summary

The successful post - holder will be joining a dynamic team of 6 Consultant Audiovestibular physicians who work closely together with a large team of audiologists to provide secondary and tertiary Audiovestibular services to the South West London sector and beyond.

To deliver high quality clinical care in Adult Neurotology, Adult Hearing / Tinnitus and Paediatric Hearing.

To contribute to multi - disciplinary Clinical Genetics meetings, Adult and Paediatric Vestibular Research meetings, Interesting Case Discussion meetings and participate in quarterly South West Thames Regional Audit Group Peer Review meetings

Opportunities to engage in undergraduate / postgraduate teaching and research.

Main duties of the job

Qualifications and Training

Essential

  • oHold a primary medical qualification registered with the GMC
  • oEntry onto the Specialist Register for GMC or be within six months of obtaining CCT/CCST in Audiovestibular Medicine or equivalent
  • oAppropriate higher medical qualification i.e. MRCP/MRCS or equivalent

Desirable

  • oPhD or equivalent higher degree or evidence of relevant research

  • oHigh standard of clinical skill and expertise in the specialty
  • oAble to contribute to the full range of skills required for the specialty
