A vacancy as aRisk and Governance Midwifehas arisen for an enthusiastic, skilled midwife with a minimum of three years Band 6 experience, including 18 months on the Delivery Suite to join our team for a 9 months Secondment, 30hrs/ week. This post provides an exciting opportunity to step into an investigative role within the midwifery team and will assist with identifying adverse incidents within the maternity unit and support the collation of clinical records, statements and other documentation relevant to the investigations. The post holder will work within the maternity governance team and quality improvement team alongside midwifery, obstetrics and gynaecology leads to support the full range of governance activities across obstetrics and gynaecology.

Main duties of the job

As a professional role model, you will act as the main link for staff for the day-to-day management of maternity and gynaecology risk incidents including the provision of assistance to the leads for the clinical areas in the investigation of incidents. During any assigned clinical duties, you will have continuous responsibility for the day-to-day management and organisation of maternity care, in both the hospital and community settings, within available resources.
