Are you looking for an chance to work as a Specialist Paediatric Occupational Therapist in an MDT team based in an OfstedOutstanding Special School?
We are looking for an exceptional Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our team, working across Paddock Special School. Paddock School is anoutstanding special school supporting children aged 4-19 years old with severe learning difficulties, complex communication needs and/or ASD .
Your role will be focused on assessment and therapy and working closely with the education team, parents/carers and the wider MDT to support and review children in accessing their learning and participating in school occupations.
As a member of the StGeorge's children's therapies team, you will be part of a supportive and dynamic multi-disciplinary team, with regular opportunities for supervisionand continuing professional development.More information is detailed in supporting document.
Main duties of the job
To work as a specialist occupational therapist as part of the multi-disciplinary team within the paediatric therapy servicebased at Paddock School.
To provide a high standard of occupational therapy assessment, treatment and advice to children, young people andtheir families accessing the school
The Occupational Therapist will support children who attend the school and their families as outlined in their Education, Health and Care plan. The therapy team at Paddock School implement an integrated therapy model.

- Approved Degree Level Training in Occupational Therapy.
- Registration with Health Care Professions Council as an Occupational Therapist.
Desirable
- Relevant Masters Modules related to Children
- Relevant training regarding Autism
- Member of RCOT

- E1. Relevant post graduate experience in assessment and intervention of pupils within a school setting
- E3. Experience using a wide range of standardised assessments & clinical observations
- E4. A working knowledge of child development, neuro-developmental stages and the role of occupation in childhood.
- E5. Ability to demonstrate Trust Values.
Desirable
- Experience in working with children who has a diagnosis of ASD and learning difficulties
- Experience in using the CO-OP approach
- Some experience of planning & running groups
- Experience in using Makaton and PECS

- S1. Ability to manage a caseload & to reflect on clinical practice & experience with supervision and support from a Band 7 OT.
