Job overviewBiomedical Support Worker Band 2 An exciting opportunity has arisen for highly motivated, Biomedical Support Worker, Band 2 to join the CellularPathology Team at St George's Hospital, Tooting.

Candidates will have good verbal and written communication skills and be able to work alongside other Biomedical Support Workers andBiomedical Scientists as part of a team.This post will offer successful applicants the opportunity to support the Trusts cancer & diagnostics testing, coupled with other duties includingpreparing samples for analysis, inputting patient data, maintaining lab equipment and dealing with enquiries.Successful candidates will be required to undergo training. Candidates will be required to work on a roster once fully trained and competent.Interview date: TBC

Main duties of the job

Main duties of the jobDuties will include maintaining laboratory equipment, aiding laboratory staff in some aspects of technical work, entry of patient data onto thepathology computer system and assisting medical staff with diagnostic tissue handling of operative specimens. Good literacy, biological science,numeracy and communication skills are required; keyboard skills would be an advantage.You should have the ability to work as part of a team and to manage your own workload. Previous experience of medical terminology and dataentry.Candidates who have applied in the past 3 months need not apply.
