Specialist Midwife for Infectious Diseases - Band 7 - Fixed Term 1 year

We are looking for an experienced, highly motivated midwife who has knowledge in working within infectious diseases to coordinate and lead this specialist service. They will work in partnership with the screening team, obstetric, midwifery and specialist physicians for daily delivery of high-level care to women affected by HIV, Hepatitis B/C and Syphilis in pregnancy ensuring care, treatment and planning for optimal maternal and fetal wellbeing is achieved in line with the Trust's and national clinical guidelines.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator and will be able to promote seamless and sensitive care that is holistic to women's needs whilst encouraging optimum access to services to support health and wellbeing. You will need to have extensive knowledge of all antenatal screening programmes, be able to educate and assess others, can initiate change, engage in the auditing and reporting both at local and reginal level to describe complex information and data whilst assessing opportunities for improvement through quality improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will work collaboratively amongst colleagues within and across fetal medicine, screening and allied service as required.

The successful candidate will also oversee the day to day running of the maternal vaccination service alongside the Consultant Midwife in Public Health. They will line manage the team within the maternity vaccination team.
