Main duties of the job

  • As a Practice Facilitator in the Children and Young Person Emergency Department, you will play a pivotal role in promoting educational excellence and enhancing patient care.
  • You will collaborate with ED multidisciplinary team to integrate education into the department's core philosophy.
  • Your responsibilities will include coordinating and leading educational activities for staff, ensuring alignment with departmental goals and standards.
  • You will actively contribute to improving patient experiences and care standards while participating in national and corporate projects aimed at driving healthcare improvement.
  • Additionally, you will demonstrate a commitment to personal and professional development, support the growth of clinical practice among colleagues, and engage as a collaborative member of the Practice Educator's Forum, sharing best practices to enhance healthcare education and delivery.

  • Registered Children's Nurse
  • Safeguarding Children (Level 3).

Desirable

  • Completion of modules at level 7
  • PGCE

Experience

Essential

  • Experience as a mentor of pre and post-registration students.
  • Clinical experience at band 6 in an acute paediatric setting
  • Ability to teach, educate and facilitate in informal and formal situations

Desirable

  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant specialist curricula, including mentorship programme
  • Previous educational/practice development post.
