Job summary
- The post holder is a specialised nurse working as part of the Inherited Cardiac Conditions (ICC) nursing team.
- The post holder functions as part of the wider multidisciplinary team to provide advice, information and support to patients & their families with electrophysiological impairment of their hearts and those with or at risk of inherited cardiac conditions including, cardiomyopathies and inherited arrhythmias.
- This is an exciting time for service development with our team, with ongoing plans to advance our care and the role of the specialist nurse within our service.
Main duties of the job
- A rare and unique opening has arisen for an enthusiastic individual seeking a role as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in an established inherited cardiac conditions specialist team.
- The ICC team at St George's Hospital offers specialized care for the diagnosis, symptoms evaluation and management of patients and families affected with inherited cardiovascular conditions.
- We are a multidisciplinary team working across South-West London receiving supra-regional referrals from Surrey and the UK.
- The service offers dedicated clinics with a family cantered approach providing an integrated "one stop" shop assessment.
- Clinics are dedicated to cardiomyopathies, inherited/ paediatric arrhythmias, familial evaluation after a sudden cardiac death, sports cardiology, as well as an aortopathy service.
- With all that in mind I am hoping that you are an experienced cardiac nurse who is interested in advancing their specialist cardiac knowledge or has an interest in inherited cardiac conditions.
- This Band 6 pot holder will be working to develop skills and experience as a role of a CNS.
- The post offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills in ECG recognition, arrhythmia and device management, and the expert understanding of ICC's and genomic healthcare. The Band 6 CNS, will be support by Band 7 CNS's who will help mentor and develop them in their role.
