Due to a high-volume increase in patient numbers, we are inviting a self-motivated, organised individual who have excellent customer service skills and are passionate about patient care, to apply for this position.

The role is demanding so you must be confident, assertive and have the ability to multi-task and remain calm under pressure. You will have good listening and communication skills and be able to deal with people both internally and externally in a sensitive and professional manner. The ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to Trust policies is paramount.

We have a great opportunity for an experienced contact centre agent to join our team in the Central Bookings Service supporting St George's Hospital, currently based in a business centre in Tooting. Our team strives to provide service excellence to all service users whilst delivering a hugely important service to the community. We are looking for people that want to play a significant role within a high performing team and enjoy delivering a great service every day.

  • Familiar with Basic Microsoft software: Outlook, word, and PowerPoint.
  • General strong I.T skills
  • Well developed customer/patient Service Skills
  • Knowledge of NHS agenda for Outpatients (e.g., Choose & Book, National Care Records Service, 18-week target)
  • Good understanding of Referral to treatment pathways and time scales.

Desirable

  • Familiar with more advanced Microsoft software: Excel and Access.
  • Experience with ERS software, or similar bookings software.

Personal Attributes and Leadership

Essential

  • Has worked in a team of people from a wide variety of backgrounds and understands the principles of equality and diversity
  • Has potential leadership skills, strong interpersonal skills and can motivate others
  • Can work alone and part as a team

  • Relevant Healthcare experience in an administrative support role patient or customer focused.

Desirable

  • Working in a reception/phone call handling environment.

  • 5 GCSEs, must include Maths, English and IT

Desirable

  • Evidence of further study (e.g., in house courses/external courses, such as Admin, I.T or Customer Service).
