Job summary

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Patient Pathway Coordinator to join the Gastroenterology & Hepatology department to support the Gastrointestinal (GI) investigations team. This is a fantastic opportunity for candidates looking to develop their skills and experience in administration and pathway management. We are looking for a highly motivated and organised candidate who can prioritise a busy workload in a demanding environment and perform well under pressure.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will help to manage the Patient Tracking List, schedule day case and outpatient appointments, process patient letters and provide a high standard of administrative support to ensure patients receive treatment as soon as possible and ensure national targets are met.

Essential

  • Must have GCSE level C or above in Maths and English or equivalent qualification
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office

Desirable

  • Willingness to undertake learning & development courses
  • IT package qualification/training, e.g. European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL)
  • Customer services qualification/training

Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • Awareness of patient care within the wider context of the Trust
  • Experience of multi-professional working
  • Experience in the use of data management
  • Understanding of person-centred care
  • Understanding of the health & social care environment
  • Excellent customer care
