Job summary
St Georges PICU/PSDU is looking for an experienced Charge Nurse/Sister to take on a Clinical Team Leader role PICU/PSDU.
Our mission is to deliver outstanding care at all times to patients treated in our PICU and PSDU and to do that, we need exceptional Leaders to join our team.
The Candidate should;
- Act as the professional role model, leading and co-ordinating the nursing team.
- To have continuous responsibility for the management & organisation of the ward/department.
- To be accountable for the overall provision of excellent nursing care and to work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team
Main duties of the job
- Responsible for all nursing, receptionist and housekeeping staff workingin the Ward/department and to Support and liaise with all members of multi-disciplinary team.
- Develop the ward/department philosophy and models of care to ensurethat all policies and procedures are implemented and to lead on thedevelopment of nursing practice.
- To provide and support a high standard of clinical care, activelyparticipating in assessment planning, delivery and evaluation of nursingcare.
- To assess the effectiveness of current practices within theward/department and introduce innovations that lead to improved quality of care.
- To complete and ensure all staff complete relevant competencies for the paediatric unit and specific competencies to each clinical area to enable and support job role through appraisal thus ensuring high standards ofclinical care.
