Job summary
We are recruiting a Medical Devices Project Manager, who will be instrumental in the acquisition of medical technology across the Trust.
You will be pivotal to our ability to provide safe care to patients, by ensuring that our medical equipment is safe, appropriate, innovative, sustainable and always available.
You should have a degree in a relevant clinical, scientific or technical subject, with experience in the management of medical devices. Project management qualifications are not required.
This role is particularly suitable for recent graduates from the Scientist Training Programme. We will also consider applicants with medical, nursing and AHP backgrounds.
Main duties of the job
Your role will be to manage the acquisition of medical equipment, which involves working with clinicians of all levels to ensure needs are met, and with procurement, finance and estates teams to deliver solutions and minimise risk.
You must be prepared to undertake literature reviews and laboratory evaluations to gain an in-depth understanding of the benefits and risks of the technology being considered, as well as to identify the best option from competing manufacturers.
You will get to work with, and gain the trust of, hundreds of different people across the organisation. Excellent negotiation and influencing skills will help you, both when working with colleagues and getting gooddeals from suppliers.
The applicant will be based at the St George's Hospital main campus in London, with other members of the Medical Devices Project Management team.
