The Pharmacy Service at St George's is highly regarded across the Trust and South West London region, with around 270 staff members working closely with multi-disciplinary teams. Main duties of the job
The post holder will need to be flexible and organised, be able to align their values with those of the organisation and work well within a team. The successful candidate will work to ensure the continued provision and development of high quality, comprehensive clinical pharmacy services to patients as well as influence senior managers and clinicians within the Cardiovascular and Lipid services.
Key activities:
Act as the Specialist Pharmacist for Cardiovascular Diseases and Lipid Disorders directorates including pharmacist led clinics and cardiovascular homecare services.
Provide expert advice and support in their specialist field to colleagues to identify, stratify and optimise treatment pathways.
Contribute to the strategic planning of Cardiovascular Services and Lipid Disorders.
Deputise for the Principal Pharmacist and represent the team within the organisation and across interface boundaries.
In conjunction with the Principal Pharmacist, manage and implement services designed to improve the pharmaceutical care to patients and extend the boundaries of clinical practice.
Identify, support and participate in financial reporting and drug budget management within the relevant directorate.
Progress service improvement initiatives through multi-disciplinary working to ensure safe and timely provision of medicines.
To participate in service metric collection, clinical audit, research, risk management and clinical guideline development
