Job summary
This post provides clinical leadership of the senior health, medicine and specialist medicine physiotherapy and occupational therapy team. The post holder will work autonomously and deliver advanced occupational therapy assessment and acute rehabilitation of adult inpatients with complex needs.
The post holder will be responsible for the operational management of the team, ensuring delivery of high quality person centred acute rehabilitation measured by clinical outcomes, patient experience and patient safety measures.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will assess and treat their own complex workload of patients and maintain associated patient records utilising knowledge and skills gained through attainment of competencies, experience and relevant qualifications.
The post holder will be responsible for the operational management of the team, ensuring delivery of high quality person centred acute rehabilitation measured by clinical outcomes, patient experience and patient safety measures.
The post holder is integral to the delivery of effective and safe patient flow through the hospital by leading on high quality acute assessment and rehabilitation pathways, supporting the MDT team with timely patient discharge across the senior health, medical and specialist medical wards.
The role offers the opportunity to supervise, initiate and participate in evidence-based quality improvement projects, including recommendations for change in practice.
The post holder will participate in the 7 day acute assessment and rehabilitation service across the senior health and medical wards.
