Band 5 Anaesthetic Nurse/ODP:

We have exciting opportunities for anaesthetic practitioners to join our anaesthetic theatre team in St. George's Hospital:

  • a designated major trauma centre for the South West London and Surrey Trauma Network- over 2000 helipad landings by five air ambulances in the last 7 years.
  • The first in the UK 24/7 thrombectomy service for acute stroke covering London and South East.
  • the heart of 24 hours in A&E!

Main duties of the job

  • We are offering exciting opportunities to work within our innovative and dynamic theatre departments within one of London's largest hospitals.
  • As a valued member of our team, you'll have the opportunity to work across a broad range of elective specialities, including: General surgery, Bariatrics, Plastics, Gynaecology, Urology, Renal, Transplant, Vascular, ENT, Maxillofacial, Major Trauma, Trauma and Orthopaedics, Obstetrics, Paediatrics and Neonatal surgery. You will be joining our large dynamic team working across St James' Theatres, Paul Calvert Theatres and Lanesborough Theatres.
  • Our commitment to excellence extends to our 24/7 emergency services, ensuring you will always be at the forefront in fast-paced critical environments serving the needs of patients.
  • You will also participate in on-call commitments to support our resident night emergency theatre teams covering acute emergencies, Major trauma, and Obstetrics.
  • The post holder will also be expected to offer support and supervision to junior staff and students.
  • Our dedicated education team will provide further training to help further your career development as well as offering support for any challenges you face.
