Job summary

This is an exceptional career opportunity for an experienced, QA/QC Assistant Technical Officer looking to further develop their career and skills within the Pharmacy Quality Assurance services. The post holder will need to be flexible and organised, be able to align their values with those of the organisation, work well within a team and have a 'can do' positive attitude.

The Pharmacy service is highly regarded within the Trust and has 250 staff members. Investment in facilities includes robotics and state of the art dispensaries and technical services. The department is friendly, forward thinking and constantly expanding with opportunities for personal development.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic candidate. We will provide the successful candidate with a comprehensive induction, support from senior pharmacy staff, and an environment to develop further.

The Pharmacy QA Department is responsible for ensuring that medicinal products made and purchased are fit for their intended use. This is achieved through quality control checks of drug production and environmental and microbiological testing to ensure internal and external facilities meet the standards set by the licensing authority.

Key duties include (but are not limited to):

Microbiology: incubation, reading and reporting of media used to monitor clean rooms, perform environmental monitoring on site and at other external sites.

Chemistry: temperature monitoring and mapping, verification of thermometers, booking in of production batches, raw materials and consumables used within the Pharmacy Departments.

The successful applicant will enjoy working in a busy challenging environment, be able to manage multiple priorities and deliver against tight deadlines, and have good communication skills.
