Job summary

Women's Speciality Manager Band 6

Women's Speciality manager to provide day to day operational support to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of services provided within Obstetrics and Gynaecology Care Group. The post holder is required to have Clinical rota management experience for Consultants, Junior and Trainee doctors.

This post supports and is supported by the Service and Deputy General Manager to ensure an effective co-ordination and management of budgets and agreed national or local performance objectives and contracts.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a candidate with leadership qualities and a desire to develop onto a senior management role in the future. You will be required with the support of the Service Manager and Deputy General Manager to identify areas where efficiency savings can be made and implement policies to ensure that these are achieved. The applicant should be hard working, a multitasker and dedicated to providing the best service possible for our patients. In return we will offer you training and support in your new role with possible opportunity to develop parts of their own interest in other areas of the hospital.

Working in a fast moving service with changing daily demands that require high levels of communication with senior clinical colleagues from Director of Midwifery & Clinical Director to Consultants and Matrons.

  • o Degree level or equivalent qualification/equivalent level of experience
  • o Knowledge of range of computerised software, managerial knowledge, project monitoring, acquired through degree or equivalent experience sufficient to demonstrate the necessary operational management experience required including staff management, financial management

Desirable

  • oRecognised management qualification

  • Minimum of 2 years proven experience in an operational/patient care management post within the NHS.
  • o Evidence of excellence innovation and achievement in management practice.
  • o Evidence of waiting list management and contract monitoring as appropriate to role
  • Management of doctors rotas at all levels

  • oEvidence of successful operational leadership and effective involvement in change management
  • Evidence of appreciation and achievement in management of financial targets and budgetary management;
