Band 6 Senior Staff Nurse - Respiratory Medicine

Main duties of the job
Caesar Hawkins - 23 bed respiratory/ acute medicine ward caring for a wide range of patients with respiratory disorders who also have a wide range of other complex comorbidities . You will gain experience in caring for patients with non-invasive ventilation, CPAP, Optiflow, Tracheostomies and laryngectomies. We work very close with Acute dependency unit in Richmond ward, as well as the Intensive Care Units, as this is where most of our patients are transferred from. This is a fast-paced environment that will provide you with all of your advanced acute medicine nursing skills and more.
Our team consists of specialist physiotherapists who are on hand to teach and progress your clinical skills with our airway and acute T2RF patients. We also have a consultant led ward round every day to promote excellent MDT working/ planning. In addition, we have a discharge coordinator and practice educator who are available to support and teach.
Finally, many of our staff have progressed into variety of career opportunities, such as, Clinical Ward Manager, Practice Educator, Matron, Nurse Practitioner and Clinical Nurse Specialist roles. Where do you see yourself?
