Senior Clinical Fellow with Acute Medicine and Research
A Clinical Fellow position at ST3+ level has arisen, 50% Clinical and 50% Research. During the Clinical block the post holder will be based in the Acute Medicine Unit (AMU) at St George's Hospital. For the 50% Research Block the post holder will work with staff in the Clinical Research Facility on clinical studies which are adopted on the NIHR portfolio. Training will be provided in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and study visit protocols. There will be the opportunity to work on early phase clinical trials.
This represents an opportunity for an enthusiastic doctor to join a dynamic clinical team in Acute Medicine within a progressive and innovative AMU. The appointee will join 7 other clinical fellows and work with 14 consultants, in a hugely supported environment with consultant presence on the unit between 08:00 - 21:30, which offers the ideal setting for a trainee to develop further the required skills of a medical registrar.
The post holder will be required to follow the acute on-call rota which is a 1:19 rota and the rest of the time will be spent on normal working days (8.30am-5pm) and long days in Ambulatory Assessment (8.30am-5pm) within the AMU department.
Main duties of the job
- To have responsibility for the Health, Safety and Welfare of self and others and to comply at all times with the requirement of the Health and Safety Regulations.
- To ensure confidentiality at all times, only releasing confidential information obtained during the course of employment to those acting in an official capacity in accordance with the provisions of the Data Protection Act and its amendments.
