Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist in Vascular Surgery

Job summary

The Nurse Practitioner will work within multidisciplinary team, playing a key role in the vascular patient's journey from referral to surgery by using advanced clinical skills to undertake patient assessment, intervention, and treatment as an Independent Practitioner. The Vascular Clinical Nurse Specialist will have the opportunity to work within a variety of Vascular clinics as a rotational post to include a nurse led one stop leg ulcer clinic and pre-operative assessment for aortic and lower limb surgery. The post holder will also have an opportunity to work independently in the Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) Vascular Clinic, with the support from a Vascular Registrar and Consultant.

Main duties of the job

In partnership with members of the multidisciplinary team, the post holder will develop, implement, and evaluate a seamless specialist service, ensuring that patients receive the highest standards of clinical care. They will demonstrate a high level of expertise within the specialist service, providing specialist advice, education and support to health care professionals and patients. The post holder will actively undertake clinical audits within the specialist area.
