Haematology CAR-T and Transplant Ward Senior Sister / Charge Nurse

Job summary

Ruth Myles Ward is a 12 bedded Bone Marrow Transplant and Haematology Ward and soon to be CAR-T specialist ward.

The Ward Sister acts as the professional role model, leading and co-ordinating the nursing team and is accountable for the overall provision of excellent nursing care and to work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team. They will ensure that staff attend training and that competencies are up to date and effectively manage budgets, recruitment. sickness, appraisals, complaints and performance.

The successful candidate will need to have experience in Haematology, Stem Cell Delivery and SACT administration.

Main duties of the job

Work within the MDT to ensure that patient care is safe and as per their care plan or Haematology pathway

Administer Stem Cells to patients undergoing Auto/Allo Transplantation

Administer SACT to Haematology patient

Ensure that admissions and discharges to the ward is made in conjunction with the Bed Management team

Provide leadership to the Ruth Myles Ward
