Job summary

Health Care Assistant in Breast Imaging

Band 2 HCA, Full Time or Part Time posts available . An opportunity has arisen to join our friendly breast imaging team in the Rose Centre.

We are looking for an enthusiastic experienced Health Care Assistant. The department, based in the Rose Centre, performs breast imaging for the South West London Breast Screening Service and the St George's Symptomatic Breast Clinic. Clinics run everyday and the department is open Monday to Friday from 8am until 6pm.

The post holder will work along side breast imaging clinicians, chaperoning the patients and providing assistance to the clinician during breast biopsies for patient's who have or fear they may have breast cancer.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be required to work with a multidisciplinary team. They should have excellent communication skills, be flexible, organised and able to work calmly in a very busy outpatient setting. Experience of a breast clinic or imaging clinic preferred.

St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust hosts SWLBSS, which is one of six breast screening services in London and serves a population of over 196 000 women, providing screening with mammography for women aged 50 to their 71st birthday every 3 years.

SWLBSS is co-located with the symptomatic breast service which together form the Breast Services Care Group based in The Rose Centre on Perimeter Road at St Georges University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
