Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced nurse to join the Major Trauma Nurse Practitioner Team on a 12 month fixed term/secondment to cover maternity leave.

We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic and dynamic individual who is a good team player and ready for a new challenge.

The Major Trauma Nurse Practitioner Team is an integral part of the Major Trauma Service within the MTC and wider South West London and Surrey Trauma Network. You will work alongside the team to provide a 7 day service

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work collaboratively with the lead nurse and existing Major Trauma Nurse Practitioners, along with the wider multidisciplinary team. You will provide excellent trauma care, coordination and communication to our patients and families. You will be part of a team responsible for the management of all major trauma admissions. You will also have your own caseload of patients to manage throughout the major trauma pathway from admission to facilitating often complex discharges. You will be involved in patient care throughout the hospital, including the Emergency Department, ICUs, wards and outpatients. The Major Trauma Nurse Practitioners provides vital clinical support, expertise and education to all staff looking after major trauma patients. You will be responsible for signing off trauma competencies as well as participating in trauma education and teaching across the hospital and wider network.
