Multiple Sclerosis Clinical Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a keen and enthusiastic Registered Nurse to join the dynamic Multiple Sclerosis (MS) team as a MS Clinical Nurse Specialist to cover for a maternity leave. The role is to deliver high quality specialist care and support to patients with MS.

Clinical responsibilities will include running nurse led clinics at St Georges Hospital and St Helier Hospital, Carshalton, multidisciplinary clinics, domiciliary reviews, co-ordination of treatment pathways and patient education programmes.

There have been great advances in the treatment of MS in the last few years with Disease Modifying Therapy as well as improvements in complex symptom management and palliative care.

The successful candidate will have experience in neurology, preferably in Multiple Sclerosis and in case management. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work autonomously as well as part of a multi-disciplinary team are essential.

Main duties of the job

To provide MS Clinical Nurse Specialist care for a caseload of patients with Multiple Sclerosis at St George's and St Helier Hospital.

In conjunction with the multidisciplinary team, be responsible for setting, monitoring and maintain excellence standards of care for people with Multiple Sclerosis. To provide holistic care including symptom and relapse management and monitoring of patients on Disease Modifying Therapies.
