Business Manager for Group Chief Nursing Officer and Director of Infection Prevention and Control (DIPC) Band 8A
Are you a highly motivated individual who enjoys organising and planning? The Group Chief Nurse and DIPC is looking for a Business Manager to support her role and the team in their portfolio's.
To ensure you have the correct skills for this role you must have the following experience and training:
- Substantial experience of working as a business manager, private secretary, chief of staff or similar to a Group Chief Nurse, or equivalent (3 years' experience or more)
- Experience of working in a large and complex organisation in a similar role to this within the NHS or another similar organisation
- Preparation of reports and high-level briefings for internal and external audiences
- Experience of drafting reports for use at Board, Board Committees, or management group meetings.
- Experience of preparing slide presentations for senior executives for use with senior internal and external stakeholders
- Experience of line managing staff
Main duties of the job
The Business Manager to the Group Chief Nursing officer and DIPC is a critical role in the new George's, Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals and Health Group (GESH).
The postholder will ensure there are efficient and robust administrative systems and processes in place to support the work of the Group Chief Nursing Officer and DIPC, reviewing and strengthening these where appropriate. This will include being responsible for ensuring that the Group Chief Nursing Officer and DIPC's priorities are taken forward within the Trust by working collegiately with the members of the Group Chief Nursing team and Trust-level management teams and tracking the delivery of actions.. The postholder will also represent the Group Chief Nursing Officer and DIPC and will present a professional and welcoming image at all times. This will include dealing with both written and verbal correspondence from patients and relatives, including complex complaints or enquiries, in an engaging, calm and sensitive manner

The postholder is responsible for providing high quality, efficient and proactive support to ensure the Group Chief Nursing Officer and DIPC is supported to carry out their roles effectively. The role is responsible for ensuring the Group Chief Nursing Officer and DIPC is always prepared and properly briefed for internal and external meetings and other events, including but not limited to meetings of the two Trust Boards, Board Committees and management meetings and engagement meetings with external stakeholders across South West London, the NHS London Region as a whole, and with national NHS and other relevant organisations.
