NIHR St Georges Clinical Research Facility is looking for a Senior Clinical Research Nurse with a practice education interest to join our diverse and enthusiastic team.
This band 7 post represents an exciting opportunity for an experienced Research Nurse. Key responsibilities of the post include the co-ordination and management of part of the CRF core team and an agreed early and late phase clinical research portfolio. Central to this role is responsibility for assessing and managing the education and training pathways for clinical and non-clinical research staff supporting clinical trials.
You will be involved in a range of research activities, including co-ordinating study set-up and procedures, research staff training and auditing. You will need to have solid experience with research governance and have proven experience in setting up early and late phase IMP studies.You will have excellent staff management, leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, possess strong motivation and have the ability to work autonomously whilst integrating with the multidisciplinary team. You will also work alongside the Early and Late Phase Research Matrons, CRF Ops/QA Manager, Senior Research Nurses /CRPs based in the CRF to foster a culture of outstanding care in the NIHRCRF.
Informal visits strongly encouraged.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work collaboratively with the Research Matrons and wider multidisciplinary team in the management of a portfolio of early and late phase clinical trials and be accountable for the achievement of local and national targets in relation to the service.
The post holder will be responsible for the co-ordination and management of a Research team at St Georges Hospital alongside assisting the Early/ Late Phase Research Matrons in the provision of expert leadership on Practice Development, Education and Training in clinical research. The post holder will be involved in ensuring that any research undertaken safeguards the well-being of the patient and is conducted within Good Clinical Practice Guidelines for research.
The post holder will also assist the Research Matrons in continuing education, training, and professional development for CRF staff and students to promote the acquisition of knowledge, skills and behaviours required for the delivery of world-class care and cutting-edge research. The post holder will have the skills to lead by example as an expert practitioner providing organisation and leadership to the multi-professional team and supporting the patient throughout a clinical trial. The post holder must also be willing to move to different clinical specialties within the remit of their qualifications and where the need to do so is identified.

- Completed post graduate qualification in speciality or clinical research related field
- Teaching & assessing qualification or equivalent relevant experience

- Completed Master's degree in the speciality or related field or willing to work towards

Previous experience/ knowledge

- Experience of managing a complex early and late phase clinical research workload in a Clinical Research Facility
- Knowledge and experience of handling complex relationships
- Experience of collaborating with other agencies
- Evidence of successfully working with and contributing to a multi-disciplinary team
