Job summary
To provide outstanding care to patients all of the time. Have skills and competencies develop, taking charge and actively participating in and contributing to the management of the ward or department. Supervising, supporting and mentoring junior staff, students and HCA's.
Main duties of the job
Caesar Hawkins - 23 bed respiratory/ acute medicine ward caring for a wide range of patients with respiratory disorders who also have a wide range of other complex comorbidities . You will gain experience in caring for patients with non-invasive ventilation, CPAP, Opti flow, Tracheostomies and laryngectomies. We work very close with Acute dependency unit in Richmond ward, as well as the Intensive Care Units, as this is where most of our patients are transferred from. This is a fast-paced environment that will provide you with all of your essential acute medicine nursing skills and more.
Whether you are a newly qualified or an experienced nurse - this is a chance to develop your skills, specifically respiratory nursing care. Our team consists of specialist physiotherapists who are on hand to teach and progress your clinical skills with our airway and acute T2RF patients. We also have a consultant led ward round every day to promote excellent MDT working/ planning. In addition, we have a discharge co Ordinator and practice educator who are available to support and teach.
Finally, we offer preceptorship, practice assessor/ supervisor of students, and professional development to ensure you get the very best from your time with us. Many of our staff have progressed into variety of career opportunities, such as, Practice Educator, Matron, Nurse Practitioner and Clinical Nurse Specialist roles. Where do you see yourself?
