Band 6 Clinical Research Nurse - Neurology
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Research Nurse to join our Neurology Research Team.
The post holder will be a key member of the Neurology Clinical Research delivery team and provide research and clinical care for participants taking part in research studies.
The post holder would work across the range of neurological disorders e.g, Parkinson's, Headache, MND, Epilepsy, MS etc. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and supportive team to further develop and deliver high quality research in Neurology.
Previous experience in these specialities will be of value to the applicant.
The post holder will have their own caseload of studies to co-ordinate, with the support of senior staff.
This role involves liaison with Principal Investigators and other members of the MDT to provide high quality data collection and clinical care, with a commitment to participant safety and welfare. The post holder will be expected to advocate for patients and empower them to make informed choices concerning their involvement in clinical research studies by providing advice and information. The post holder will work with a high level of autonomy, taking delegated responsibility from clinicians for clinical decision making, and will work closely with investigators and multidisciplinary staff.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for the co-ordination and management of an agreed clinical research portfolio at St George's Hospital.
The post holder will work collaboratively with the research teams and wider multidisciplinary team in the management of their own caseload of clinical trials patients and be accountable for the achievement of local and national targets in relation to the service.
Responsibilities include: facilitating study set-up; identifying suitable patients through the process of MDT's/screening notes; collecting data; interviewing; supporting and monitoring patients and data entry. The post holder will also be expected to have sufficient skills to enable patients to make informed choices concerning their involvement in clinical trials by providing advice and information and acting as the patient's advocate. The post holder must also be willing to move to different clinical specialties within the remit of their qualifications and where the need to do so is identified.
