We are looking for compassionate and highly motivated, Qualified Midwife to join our team, providing continuity or carer for women and their families.

We currently have a model of caseload for offer.

Shift base team- Leander Team

Help provide Antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care both in the community and inpatient setting; Allocated shifts vary from inpatient shifts to cover intrapartum care to community where you will have allocated shifts for both Antenatal care as well as postnatal care, which could involve visiting the families at home in the postnatal stage. This model is great for a midwife that is interested in case loading vulnerable women/families, caring for families through pregnancy, intrapartum and postnatal stages.

Main duties of the job

  • Evidence of professional development.

Desirable

  • Relevant Degree
  • Assessor/mentorship course or equivalent
  • Documented evidence of further studies: personal portfolio

  • Awareness and understanding of current national and local midwifery issues
  • Ability to make appropriate clinical decisions in the light of research evidence, informed choice and individual circumstances
  • Understanding child protection
  • Awareness of risk management

  • Understand systems of team approach in midwifery

Skills and Abilities

  • Effective communicator both written and verbal
  • Practice as an autonomous midwife in the acute and primary care setting

  • NVQ Mentor/Assessor Training
  • Examination and assessment of the newborn
