The Test Lead is a key member of the Digital Services Application Support team responsible for maintaining clinical systems across the Trust. These include the two main Electronic Patient Record (EPR) systems--EMIS Web for community services and Oracle Millennium for acute services--along with other clinical applications. The post holder will support the Test Manager in quality assurance and testing activities.
This role will oversee testing of changes to clinical systems, ensuring updates are robust, safe and meet agreed quality standards before implementation. They will ensure effective processes and controls are in place so changes are delivered securely with minimal impact on patient care and staff workflows.
Working with Application Support, CXIO colleagues, operational teams and the Digital Services PMO, the Test Lead will ensure IT changes follow standardised testing and governance processes.

Main duties of the job
- Plan, develop, execute, and report on complex test scripts in line with agreed testing schedules and strategy.
- Ensure all tests meet acceptance criteria, with full documentation of evidence and outcomes.
- Apply standard testing methodologies and tools consistently across all activities.
- Identify, document, and communicate risks related to test planning and execution.
- Support all testing phases in non-production and production environments, ensuring comprehensive test scenarios, scripts, data, and expected results are in place.
- Work with internal infrastructure teams and external suppliers to maintain stable test environments and resolve issues promptly.
- Identify and prioritise test failures, determining the level of required regression testing.
- Liaise with software suppliers to obtain detailed release information and translate it into clear, actionable test plans.
- Communicate testing, release management, and change management information to end users in an understandable and accessible manner.
- Provide regular reporting to the Test Manager as required.
