Locum Adult Dietitian- Band 5

We are seeking an enthusiastic dietitian to join our newly commissioned Tier 3 Weight Management Service in Croydon.

This new service is supportive and always seeking ways to improve. The Team has a highly Specialist Dietitian, a Psychologist and a Physiotherapist. The Tier 3 team are also supported by a Dietetic Therapy Practitioner, a Service Co-ordinator and administrator.

The wider dietetic team within the Trust has 14 dietitians covering acute, community, paediatric and Learning disability, and prescribing support. The dietetic team also supported by Dietetic assistants and administrators.

Clinical supervision, monthly journal club, in service monthly CPD is well established and we take placement 1, 2 and 3 students.

Main duties of the job

To provide specialist dietary advice within the Tier 3 obesity service based on clinical evidence for clinical caseload of patients, with a range of clinical conditions and needs, associated with morbid obesity.

To deliver group sessions and one to one sessions for patients on the pathway; both in-person and via MS Teams or other virtual appointment solutions.To collaboratively formulate and implement plans for the client's problems and challenges, and employing methods based on evidence of efficacy. To help undertake risk assessment and risk management for individual clients and to provide advice to other professions dietary aspects of risk assessment and risk management, escalating to the Service Lead Dietitian as appropriate.To evaluate and make decisions about treatment options as part of the MDT.To contribute on dietetic aspects to the multidisciplinary team through attendance and participation in multidisciplinary team meetings.To participate in health promotion activities as identified by the Operational & Clinical Lead for Dietetics.To fulfil any other duties delegated by the Operational & Clinical Lead for Dietetics.To actively participate in dietetic student training.
