Senior Pharmacy Technician dispensary - Band 5 - 15 months fixed term
To support the dispensary manager / assistant dispensary manager with the day-to-day management of the dispensary, including organisation of workload and supervision of all staff in the dispensary.
To be an Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT)
To line-manage staff
To improve dispensary processes, by facilitating the safe and efficient supply of medicines to patients.

Main duties of the job
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Undertake responsibility for the smooth running of the dispensary and resolving problems as they arise in the absence of an assistant dispensary manager
- To supervise the provision of dispensary-based services, including inpatients, and outpatients to agreed performance targets with guidance and support from the dispensary manager/ assistant dispensary manager.
- Undertake day to day supervision of pharmacy technicians and pharmacy assistants in the absence of the Assistant Dispensary Manager to deliver patient focused quality care.
- Post holder will also support in the training and development of all grades of staff allocated to dispensary.
- Participate in the Practice Supervisor training programme in order to provide technical support and training to junior staff in these areas.
- Assist in the management of Clinical Trials in the absence of assistant dispensary manager
- Assist in the organisational management and supervision in the main dispensary and the co-ordination of medicine supplies with the stores and in main dispensary.
- To investigate stock level discrepancies within the dispensary in line with current procedures.
- To assist with/write standard operating procedures for the dispensary
- To organise and conduct dispensary induction and training for staff whenever necessary
