Full- time 37.5 hours (1.0 WTE)

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Croydon Children's Physiotherapy Service. The Children's Physiotherapy team is consists of a small team of Physiotherapists as well as Physiotherapy assistants who have a wide range of skills and expertise. The team is based in a purpose built Children's Development Centre (CDC) promoting MDT working and shared working spaces.

The team works closely with colleagues across a wide range of services, including Health, CAMHS, Education, Social Services and voluntary sectors. There is administrative support within the team, support with Continuing Professional Development, peer and management support and regular clinical supervision for junior members of staff provided by experienced therapists.

The successful candidate will have at least 5 years post graduate Physiotherapy experience, with a minimum of 2 years at a Band 7 or equivalent level.

The Service has a strong commitment to continuing professional development and evidence based practice, with regular in service training and clinical forums. Support is provided through regular supervision, reflective practice and personal development reviews. Management support will be provided by the Children's Therapies Lead.

Main duties of the job

To co-ordinate service delivery for the Children's physiotherapy service.

To be responsible for delivering identified KPIs in service area via the collection and presentation of statistics to Children's Therapy Lead and the Directorate Management team.

To be responsible for maintaining an overview of the standards of care being delivered across the service, instigating remedial action to improve practice as necessary highlighting and escalating issues as they arise.

To be responsible for working with the Children's Therapy Lead, Therapy Team Managers in other services, and other Clinical Operational leads in assessing the clinical skills required to deliver a safe and high quality service, identifying any deficits in this and developing programmes to address these issues.

To be responsible for ensuring that regular and robust performance and development reviews and Mandatory and Statutory training takes place for all staff within areas of responsibility.

To be responsible for ensuring that clinical initiatives and service developments become truly embedded in clinical practice and that staff have a clear understanding and opportunity to contribute to the change process.

Providing clinical support and supervision for other team members.

The role will involve some clinical work and candidates may have a clinical caseload and the nature of this caseload will be discussed and negotiated in line with the candidates clinical skills as well as practical service considerations.
