Community Tradesperson Band 3

To undertake planned and emergency maintenance repair, minor improvements, painting and decoration and to carry out the repair, maintenance or installation of all plant, equipment, systems and building structure/fabric associated with premises administered by Estates Team Leaders, and by agreement with Business & Property Manager.

The post holder will be responsible for providing an effective and efficient multi-skilled approach to the day to day operation, maintenance, fault finding and repair of complex electrical distribution systems, as well as maintenance, fault finding and repair of specialist plant and equipment found in a healthcare environment throughout the Trust and other agencies.

The work areas include Staff accommodation and community premises that Croydon Health Services has a responsibility to maintain.

The post holder will be part of a multi-skilled, multi discipline team and will work a standard 37.5 hours/week, Monday to Sunday with occasional out of hours' emergency on call service to the Trust and other agencies

Main duties of the job

Main Duties

1. The post holder must have a multi skilled approach to a wide range of semi-skilled work across core trade skills, and be able to undertake work in a safe and effective manner, complying with all relevant safety legislation and procedures and complying with the Estates Health and Safety Procedures manual on all works undertaken.
2. A multi skilled approach will be require that crosses over between Electrical/Mechanical and Building/Construction maintenance and repairs.

1. The ability to work with minimal supervision and also to work successfully as part of a team.
2. Assist multi-skilled craftsmen across the full range of their duties and demonstrate their ability to work in a multi-task environment
3. To provide cover for other Assistant Crafts Persons in cases of annual leave, sickness and vacancies.
4. At all times carry Trust communication devices (pagers/bleeps) to facilitate immediate response to emergencies and comply with requirements of Health and Safety policies and current HTM's.
5. Communicate with colleagues, patients and visitors in a polite and courteous manner at all times to ensure a high level of customer care. Keep service delivery managers up to date, at all times, with engineering and building issues that will affect their service delivery.
