Job summary
- To provide a senior professional managerial service on all Building related Minor New Works, Capital Works and Property issues with direct responsibility for a large professional and technical workforce.
- To contribute a senior managerial input into the capital and site development and long-term Estates strategies.
- To be service lead for the Trust's estates project management section, specialising in backlog maintenance and estates infrastructure projects.
- To lead on engineering schemes and provide professional advice on estates engineering compliance associated to the capital projects.
- To provide, coordinate, develop and manage highly specific and highly complex Building and Property specialised input into multi-agency estate strategies site development and modernisation projects.
- To manage and coordinate costs recovery for non-patient income
- To give senior managerial input/support to Trust service objectives.
- To develop the existing in-house project team; to make it more professional, capable and quality driven, thereby reducing the reliance on external consultants.
Main duties of the job
Estates Capital Projects Manager
The Estates Capital Project Manager post is a senior member of the Estates & Facilities Management Team, with responsibility for managing both backlog maintenance and engineering improvement projects.
The post holder will be responsible for the management of highly complex projects that will be critical to improve patient care and continue to work in cohesion with the estates strategy.
At a corporate level the post holder will contribute to the formulation and delivery of strategic and operational objectives whilst ensuring the provision of a comprehensive and efficient service working on behalf of patients, visitors and staff. The post holder will be expected to embrace the changes in the delivery of health care and to identify and implement innovative solutions that support the Trusts Objectives.
