Occupational Therapist Rapid Response Band 7

The Rapid Response Service/ 2hr Crisis Response Team is an admission avoidance and crisis response service available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Are you a dynamic, flexible, innovative and motivated experience d Occupational Therapist? Clinical expertise and good communication skills are required as well as excellent time management and prioritization skills to provide care to this group of patients living within their own home.
The post holder will require advanced assessment skills and have the ability to prescribe a plan of care that will support patients with complex needs through an acute episode in the community in order to avoid a hospital admission.
Main duties of the job
Working as part of the Rapid Response/2hr Crisis Response team, the post-holder will provide expert therapy assessment and treatment of patients, identifying complex and specialist needs and will develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care to ensure the patients are supported to remain within their own homes.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
Essential
- BSc or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
- HCPC Registered.
- Evidence of CPD including relevant clinical training and courses.
Desirable
- Relevant postgraduate training e.g. Elderly care/Falls/Dementia training
- Previous Community experience
KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
Essential
- Expert knowledge of a range of OT assessment, treatment and rehabilitation techniques and to have kept up to date with trends and developments in therapy and Community Services.
- Awareness of Clinical Governance issues.
- Uses clinical reasoning and reflective practice to improve service delivery.
- Ability to manage and supervise junior staff and pass on skill / knowledge in informal and formal environments.
- Expert awareness of other community and social services.
- Knowledge of relevant NICE and clinical standards.
Desirable
- Knowledge of outcome measures/ audit
EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Minimum 5 years postgraduate, incorporating experience in a variety of relevant core specialities within the NHS
- Experience of managing qualified and unqualified assistant therapy staff.
- Has taught peers or students as part of in-service training.

- Previously worked in rehab and reablement setting
- Leadership or management course
