Job summary
Croydon Sexual Health Centre (CSHC) is situated in purpose built premises on the acute hospital site. It is fully integrated with contraception and sexual health delivered from the ground floor and HIV on the 1st floor. In addition, CSHC operates a specialist psychosexual service and specialist training.
The post holder will work within the multi-disciplinary team providing care for patients with sexual and reproductive healthcare needs. The individual will be required to play an active role in the general workload of the department while having a commitment to teaching and training of other staff.
The service is commissioned to provide a full and comprehensive range of contraceptive services for anyone attending the service either referred by other health care teams or predominantly as self-referral. This includes but is not limited to: short acting and long acting reversible contraception (LARC) and consultations for medically complex contraception needs.
Adjoined to contraception is the domiciliary contraception nurse and the teenage pregnancy and outreach team who run training courses, sexual relationship education in schools and outreach contraception clinics off site. The post holder will provide clinical supervision and support for the contraception staff within the unit and of these outreach teams.
Main duties of the job
Croydon Health Services provides integrated NHS services to care for people at home, in schools, and health clinics across the borough as well as at Croydon University Hospital (CUH) and Purley War Memorial Hospital. CUH provides more than 100 specialist services and is home to the borough's only Emergency Department and 24/7 maternity services, including a labour ward, midwifery-led birth centre and the Crocus home-birthing team.

Purley War Memorial Hospital (PWMH) in the south of the borough offers outpatient care, including diagnostic services, physiotherapy and ophthalmology services run by Moorfields Eye Hospital, alongside an onsite GP surgery.
Our experienced district nursing teams, Allied Health Professionals and community matrons look after people of all ages across Croydon and our Children's Hospital at Home cares for children with long-term conditions without them having to come to hospital.
