Highly Specialist Children's Speech and Language Therapist Band 7

Come and join the Early Years Team within Croydon

We have a part time vacancy for an Early Years Cluster Lead within Croydon. You will be a cluster lead, working within a supportive peer network of other Cluster leads. You will be responsible for managing the demand and capacity across a small team of therapists and assistants within a geographical area.

Main duties of the job

This role will provide you with regular opportunities for close liaison and joint working with members of the SLT team working in the same geographical area as you.

With the Croydon Children's Speech and Language Therapy team, you will have access to the following support with your role and development:

Regular 1:1 supervision with your line manager.

Access to experienced specialists within the team who provide second opinions, training and support.

An identified mentor / buddy who will be available to support you with any questions you may have and to help you settle in.

Termly Reflective Practice sessions with the wider Allied Health Professionals within the organisation. These sessions have a focus on self-reflection with regards to your role.

Termly Highly Specialist SLT forums, with a focus on professional development.

Termly team meetings with regular opportunity to discuss current matters with your colleagues that work within similar settings.

Termly whole department meetings with a regular focus on CPD.

Opportunities to access a range of quality internal and external training courses in order to support your CPD.

Opportunities to develop your leadership skills through leading working parties, informal support of team members and working alongside experienced colleagues.

  • Relevant qualifications at degree level

  • Knowledge of a range of intervention approaches with a paediatric caseload, including those used in education settings and when working with parents and other professionals Awareness of range on assessment and treatment approaches
  • Knowledge of managing a general paediatric caseload to a clinically competent standard

  • Relevant experience at undergraduate and post-graduate level
