Job summary

The Clinical Lead will provide strategic and clinical leadership to the Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC), ensuring delivery of a consistent, high-quality urgent care service.

The post holder will:

o Support system-wide collaboration with Lewisham GP leads to improve redirection pathways and community access.

o Ensure delivery of safe, accessible, and patient-centered urgent care services.

o Promote high clinical standards, reduce variation in outcomes, and improve patient experience.

o Support and lead on clinical governance, including investigating clinical incidents and patient complaints

o Work collaboratively with the Emergency Care Practitioner Lead, Service Manager, and wider MDT to optimise UTC performance.

The post holder must act at all times in accordance with GMC Good Medical Practice and Trust values.

Main duties of the job

The Clinical Lead will:

o Engage in continuing professional development to maintain clinical competence.

o Attend staff and joint educational meetings.

o Support the development of nurses and students on placement.

o Deliver teaching sessions within the multidisciplinary team as required.

o Act as a clinical role model within the UTC.

o Support appraisal processes and maintain STaM compliance.

o Contribute to maintaining an evidence-based clinical environment.
