Job summary

Are you an experienced patient pathway navigator looking for a new challenge?

The Imaging Department at University Hospital Lewisham (UHL) is looking for a full-time (37.5hr) pathway manager to lead a small bookings team with responsibility for ensuring the smooth running of the patient's diagnostic pathway. You will be expected to provide day to day operational management of the clerical staff by taking a proactive approach to administrative and diagnostic pathway targets.

You will need to demonstrate that you have a good understanding of working in an acute hospital as well as an understanding of radiology pathways and booking processes.

Main duties of the job

  • Responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the bookings team and to ensure appointments are made in line with Trust policies
  • Ensure robust administrative processes are developed and implemented, including regular review
  • To work collaboratively with all radiology sites counterparts to ensure cross site cover in the event of staff shortages
  • Identify and escalate details of any delays or bottlenecks in modality worklists affecting booking practices and / or will affect the patient journey or delivery of ahigh-quality imaging service
  • To support the service manager to achieve improvements in the patient pathway, service delivery and patient experience in agreed areas
  • General workforce responsibilities including but not limited to; sickness and absence reporting, recruitment, staff development and training
