Job summary

This is an exciting time to join our Site Operations team. In June of this year, we implemented and embedded a new electronic bed management system across our trust, and continue to improve our newly developed Command Centre. We are on a continuous journey of improvement using data and real-time situational awareness to enhance how we deliver care to our patients. We are looking for a strong leader who is passionate about safety, patient care and improvement, with an emphasis of coaching and nurturing our staff.

The Senior Nurse's key responsibility is to monitor and develop patient pathways of care throughout the trust to improve patient flow, safety and quality of care. This will be achieved through managing the site based teams of Senior Clinical Managers, Critical Care Outreach Nurse Practitioners and bed managers with delegated responsibility from the Director of Site Operations.

Plays a leading role in the oversight of the trust's capacity management either through leading clinical shifts within the command centre or supporting the command centre with escalations and decision making. The command centre is currently based on the QEH site with the expectation it will operate from both sites.

Main duties of the job

The Senior Nurse's key responsibility is to manage and develop relevant servicesdelivered through pathways and specialist services within the Trust, by managing the site-based teams of Senior Clinical Managers and Critical Care Outreach NursePractitioners with delegated responsibility from the Director of Site Operations.

The command centre will be based on the QEH site which will require the postholder to work on both LGT sites.

The Senior Nurse is part of the directorate management team and will workcollaboratively with other corporate and directorate staff in the planning,development, provision and review of excellent, patient focused care putting the interest of patients / service users at the heart of all managerial decisions.
